February Knifemaking 100s: Grinder Skills
February 2nd, 4th, 9th, 11th at 4pm-7pm each day
This is your introduction to the stock removal process of making knives. Over the four sessions, you will start with flat bar stock and learn how to do layout from a pattern, grind peripherals and bevels, heat treat, finish, handle, and sharpen.
The two knives that you will make are simple, classic patterns. They are designed to develop your skills while keeping within attainable goals.
This class is appropriate for all skill levels.
Please be sure to show up at least 15 minutes before class time. We recommend wearing long sleeves, long pants, boots, and a hat. You are encouraged to bring your own respirator if you have one.
Please eat a hearty meal before class and bring plenty of water and snacks.
